Scully
I realise I need a EFP which I will obtain shortly, but I'm more concerned with the case in which the gun is packed as I have read of some proper horror stories regarding 'as issued' hard shotgun cases. Anyone bought a case specifically for travelling abroad? Brands and prices etc would be appreciated. Many thanks.

oowee
I am off to Africa in May and was going to take my own auto and my local gun shop offered to loan me a case for the trip foc. Might be worth an ask if they know you? Whilst I could take it there can be issues (apparently) when transiting through Johannesburg so I have opted to rent. I usually just use gunslips.
Jaymo
Yep. EFP and for me it's Peli or the manufacturers case as per my Brownings. Just be aware that an EFP issued in the UK for what you legally hold might not necc be so for certain countries-- pump action shotguns for instance in France are a no no unless held on B1 (poss B4) certificates and yet we can have pump action shotguns with 18.5" barrels aslong as the barrel is rifled....bizarre huh. Rather like my French EFP if everything is put on will have my Pistols on it but not sure PCPlod at Dover would be too happy for me to turn up with them.....
