BrowningB7
After suggesting to the wife over the past year that we should relocate to Norfolk from sunny Northampton, it looks like we could be moving next summer. We are looking from Cromer down to Aylsham in that area. I was wondering in regards to Pheasant shooting, is the land pretty much taken up by large shoots or is there many small syndicate's about? The shoot I run costs the 9 guns £300 each, 200 birds put down 8/9 days averaging 10-15 bird days. Another syndicate I was on was £650 for 8 days averaging 20-30 bird days for 9 guns. Is anybody on a syndicate like these in the Cromer down to Norwich area? Are there many shoots this size or are they hard to come by? Be interested in your experiences. There are a host of large and small shoots operating in the area you mention . It shouldn't be hard to join a small syndicate shoot . It shouldn't be hard to join a small syndicate shoot . Harnser Thanks. See lots of cover crops dotted about when traveling around. Obviously known for its large shoots, people I have spoken to in the past have told about there 200+ bird days, and beating on 400+ days for wealthy foreign travelers. Must be small 20 bird day syndicates about. Will have to hit the local pubs hard when I'm about!
dodeer
Norfolk is probably the most sporting county in the UK I'd guess. I don't think you'll have much trouble finding something.
ChrisAsh
Mind you you need a bit of dosh to buy a house in that area, North walsham and south is ok but north coast and places like Holt are silly money due to holiday homes
Grandalf
If the pheasant shooting is a bit pricey then look at fowling. Very many clubs in that area and all reasonably priced by comparison. Many have game shooting as an 'add on'. Shoots of all sizes and costs in East Anglia. Doesn't have to cost a fortune.
NorfolkAYA
As said above plenty of small shoots and walked up shooting about. You will find that some villages have wildfowling clubs too like mine.

Looking into the schools at the moment so that will dictate some of our options. Only upgrading from a 2 bed to a 3 bed. Ones we have seen have lovely big gardens and more space then where we are at the moment. If the pheasant shooting is a bit pricey then look at fowling. Will look into the fowling, certainly the right area for it and something I have always wanted to do. Can't imagine not being part of a pheasant shoot in one way or another. Never done it the proper way, just a flight pond with wild duck until my grandfather filled it in loved going after the ducks until then. Suppose like anywhere, get to know the locals, offer to go beating and take it from there.

Location wise in my own opinion I would move further west/north of Norfolk 👍
