ShootingEgg
Just got my renewal through, last November a car went into the back of me, i reported it and said i wouldn't claim as the damage to my car was almost nothing.. So on my renewal I have a claim, £600 for me and the other driver... How is that even possible, ive heard nothing in 7 months. And have not said i was at fault. Davyo
You made a phone call, which as silly as it sounds "a claim"
Rupert
You have been involved in an accident regardless of blame or claim. Technically all incidents and accidents should be disclosed on the proposal, this is of course to provide your insurer more oppotunities to increase your premium. robbiep
1. Phone them up and play hell. The other party went into the back of you, so is 100% liable. If they try to fob you off, use the magic word 'ombudsman'. 2. Use comparison sites. Even with no claims or accidents, most insurance companies view 'customer loyalty' as 'customer stupidity', and try to hike premiums. ShootingEgg
You made a phone call, which as silly as it sounds "a claim" I notified them as you should do... I did not claim, i did not even put my vehicle in the garage. And i sure as hell did not admit liability.

A report in insurance terms us a claim.I once dropped a laptop didnt want to claim for a new one just asked if they could get the data retrieved.I paid for the data retrievel myself.Only to find out on my next renewal an enquiry or report is classed as a claim irrespective of you not claiming.
