JDog
Today I found a wood pigeon's nest in a Cotoneaster shrub. Nothing unusual about that you may think. However the nest in question, from which the bird departed as I approached, had three eggs in it. There may be a number of explanations including another hen laying in the nest or an addled egg from a previous clutch. The pigeon was back on the nest ten minutes later. maxwell
It makes perfect sense really, you now have a 3 shot semi, you just need to remember there's another "shell" in the mag.
aga man
Unusual as you say JDog, perhaps second brood and the dirty egg is an old one like you suggest. Will be interesting to see how many hatch if the hen can steer clear of your new gun!
Penelope
This I would think, as the egg on the left is dirty.
