Oxfordshooter
I recommend Banbury Gunsmiths, I was very happy with the work and price charged for sorting out my ejectors. Every time I've been into Oxford Gun Co. I've been appalled by the terrible snooty attitude of each one of their staff members. They've always managed to make me feel like an idiot - which I'm not, a #%^* maybe, but definitely not an idiot. I refuse to go there any more, even though it's my local shop. bruno22rf
Next time try Douglas Burton just outside Aylesbury - same day would be out of the question as he is normally snowed under but well worth the wait.
oldypigeonpopper
hello, all sorted now thanks for advice PW members, today went to a localish gunsmith in north berks near junction 14 M4 ( London Trained with Purdeys ) not been before seems a nice chap checked gun and he advised a strip down/ clean parts/ re assemble/ re grease and will be in good working order, had to leave but pick up tuesday . cheers hello, just an update, gunsmith said the internal grease was set solid and had never been serviced or been used much from 1975 so he did the above and now working very well with perfect springs/ejectors and nice tight action with top lever slight off centre so plenty of life in it yet, total cost including service £400, cheers for all replies
