Ears
I like AAA and plenty of choke like 3/4 or full. BB or 1 shot is fine just make sure your gun can fire them safely read the box for load and chamber length before you use them.

grasshopper
interesting the idea of multiple pellet strikes shoud come up as killing a fox with shock. im sure US or BASC research stated that multiple pellet strickes were nto as effective as a single strike in the vitals, and most animals did not dies of the shock. also i was under the impression when using a load with few pellets in it you should use cylinder as a tight choke deforms the shot more, which leaves a more open pattern which is not ideal for charlies Surely the more pellets,of correct calibre will have more chance of hitting a vital organ as say SG,s..with only 8 balls in it regardless of which chokes your using...which is why " pattern kills " The only effective single strike is a well placed bullet. Cranfield
Its quite an educating experience to take a selection of cartridges and chokes, together with a pattern board and see just what patterns you truly produce. You will be very surprised.
airend01
You are not wrong there, I patterned my new 3 1/2" auto for wildfowling and I found the results were not what expected. Each cartridge, Shot/load can differ a lot with each choke. Rich.
