zipdog
Hello, I have recently come into possession of a 30mm round. I believe it is a 30mm Aden round. I was hoping someone with a bit more knowledge would be able to explain a bit more about the round and what it was used for? The bullet head unscrews and can be taken apart as shown in the photos. Additionally do i need the be concerned about it being made from Depleted Uranium? The markings in the case are CY 6 61 HE TX 5 5Z J.30.M.M.R.G.60 Thank you in advance. Andy H
The projectile most likely was dug from Donna Nook beach range , When i was based at Raf binbrook we used to go over and blow up the unexploded practice bomb's and there were thousand's of 30mm Aden cannon projectiles buried in the sand from the aircraft strafing run target. wymberley
Had to laugh as this reminded me of the classic: "Tower, could you kindly tell whoever is in XV*** that I'm pulling the target, not pushing it." Expletives deleted.
TIGHTCHOKE
That would have been 20mm fired at the Rushton Targets that the Canberra's used to tow!
