TR38 batteries

Please, please be careful using recycled batteries. Only charge on a quality charger and do so outside under cover. As mentioned many times, but removing these cells from the parent battery case you've successfully removed all the protection for them.

For the sake of a few quid its better, safer to buy a couple of quality, single cell 18650s.

Alright gents, I picked up my new TR38 from ludicrous lumens today although I can honestly say I've not even checked what batteries I need yet lol

If anyone could advise it would be much appreciated! Rechargeable is better I'm taking it from the threads I've seen.

hello, andy sells decent 18650 batteries and charger,i just got a TR38 with red pil myself from him, coupled with a 2 X doubler lens i can see out 200 yards plus, good for spotting and on L/R, has a better pil than the t20.38, i use a variety of batteries all numbered so i alternate use, just keep an eye when charging what ever battery you buy, ps let me know if you want info on doubler ?

What a numpty I am!! Should have checked better and got the batteries and charger with my original order.

Why should someone go for single and not dual cell please ?

PS what's the doubler ? A doubler for the torch ?

hello, contact andy on LL he might do a deal as you bought his new TR 38, it is a camera type lens that make a 50mm into a 100mm hence double by 2 X, using on a T type torch makes a better beam, just ask andy ???? i have been using these type of torches over 10 years from the old 501Bs to the new TRs, the 501s you were lucky to get 50/60 yards for air rifle, now the TRs are a leage of there own and brill for the rimmy check out ebay item 381139301542 will be best £8 you have spent, with your TR 38 you will need to file back thread to fit bezel,

My 501b goes about 200 yards plus... :whistling:

It's seriously pimped though and that is with a red led.

hello, that must be a mick miller special :good: i have a spare 501b Ultrafire with red pil (old type) was thinking to use as a spotter rather than my TR 38 on scope as save waving around the L/R it has the concave lens and blacked out shiney area on pil, any advice to get a better beam would be appreciated

It's not the focus, it's the pill and led. ordinarily they run at 1a bonded onto aluminium. Mine is running at almost 2a bonded directly to copper with a thermal path to the body. You can run it for around 20 seconds at a time but you can't really leave it on for much longer or the lifespan of the led is drastically shortened.

£58 landed from the US, this was before all the T, TR torches. For that money, just buy a second TR torch
