7daysinaweek
Has anyone from the North Yorkshire area had it done locally. I only want the one done in my right (dominent)eye but i will need to be knocked out. The Optician says it isnt bad enough yet but it feels bad to me.So I will obviously be paying myself, any ideas or referals from those in the know. from Auntie it is the extent of quality that is effecting you that matters, if you are having visual disturbance a referal can be done. youngest i have seen post op 45 years, oldest post op 102 and the 102 year old had it done on the nhs also, was a few years back. phacoemulsification cataract extraction and intraoccular lens implant. check out this link for more information and the tabs at the top of the info. atb 7diaw http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Cataract-surgery/Pages/When-it-should-be-done.aspx
daveboy
My mother is having one eye done on Wednesday (78 years old) they have told her 3-4 days before she can see clearly,(drive) The Doctor doing the op told me he has done 17,000 and he only looks about mid 30s All went well for mum. Two lots of eyedrops 4 times a day. I went up to her house last night at 10pm to put the drops in and she complained of it being dark when watching TV. Put the big light on to have a look and she still had her sunglasses on.
