rwade545
Just thought I would share my experiences here. Have been giving a lot of brass from another rifle, once fired so need to full length resize it. Ran 250 through the sizing die after lubricating with lee lube, no stuck cases, but hard work. Now previously I could not get the bolt anywhere near closed with the brass, now it is just a bit tight with it. Decided to try some Redding wax and Redding imperial lube, really easy to apply and easy going on the next 250 cases. These now fit with out any effort to close the bolt. My question is how can the same die produce 2 cases that are that different? Is it that the lee lube is not lubricating enough to allow the cases to form properly? Anyway I'll be using Redfin products from now on!
Walker570
If the die is going down full length, other than if they are different make cases, I can't see what the tiny amount of lubricant would have. Some cases are thicker metal than others and may spring back just a tiny bit, check they are all the same make, because that is important from a load point of view
rwade545
Haven't even removed the die from the press so it is the same. Brass is all the same, and is from one big tub so all mixed up. Have run the first lot of brass through the die using the Redding wax and they all now fit easily too. Must be to do with the cases sticking a bit to the die walls and either stretching in the removal or springing back. Think I will continue to use the Redding lube. 250 cases lubed and sized in 45 minutes, and hardly a mark in the wax- it's going to last for 1000s or cases. Vince Green
I use the Lee lube because it dries afterwards and that is a big plus for me. I have redding lube as well and I can't say I have noticed any difference in case fit
Dougy
Are they all trimmed to the exact same length too ?
