Dave-G
I'd like to reset the parallax on an S&B 8x56 to make it closer for night vision use. I've got the front ring off but cannot see any way of moving the objective lens carrier. Anyone ever done it?
iain
Try Paul Burke or action optics.
SPARKIE
carefull there full of inert gas to stop them fogging internally. let out the gas or mess about with it and it will invalidate your warrenty. ZG47
Send an email to S & B asking what they will charge you to do it.
Dave-G
Send an email to S & B asking what they will charge you to do it. I want to be able to set it as needed to try it with night vision - which focuses closer at night than in daylight. So It needs to be on a suck it and see basis rather than say exactly 40 yards or whatever. Its commonly considered as not very doo-able with fixed 8 x 56 because of focus issues but I got it to try because someone indicated they get on great with one. activeviii
Standing the scope upright will help with the gas as it is heavier than air so sinks. Is paul Burke going as last I heard he was a little unwell. May not be the case, hope it's not as I have a Zeiss noculars in need of his expertise

Dave-G
Huh - The objective lens cluster is a snug slide fit and just butts up to a preset flange inside the scope. I've made a shim about 1.5mm thick which has brought the pa back to about 45 yards. I won't know how it works out for a few days till I've replaced the add on I just sold yesterday.
