the hitman
Hi Folks I have a 06 plate Tdi Passat, and the automatic handbrake warning light , and an annoying alarm is sounding even though I can drive the car. Has anyone come across this before? Thanks Hitman.
guzzicat
I have had electrical ghosts in several Passats, try removing both battery terminals, & hold disconected terminals together for a few seconds, then re/conect,this cured a locking problem I had, It may work. the hitman
Thanks for the reply. Tried the battery off thing no joy. The handbrake is working ok, but the alarm keeps telling me that has a fault. It's going to the garage on Friday 👎
triumphant59
A tip with a lot of VW faults is to discontent the negative terminal for 3 minutes, reconnect then turn ignition on for 3 minutes then off and then back on. This clears any faults/glitches in the memory.
the hitman
Thanks for the replies. It's in the garage with a possible sticking calliper . Hitman
