BrowningDJC
Don't go for a fiesta, the powershift auto boxes are very unreliable. My other half has a 14 reg done 20,000 miles has already been in to ford. The new Kia Rio is meant to be good, plus a 7 year warranty. AVB
Polo, the wee dsg gearbox takes some beating! I assume it's the same as the day box in my new Audi a1? If so I agree it's a cracking gearbox. I understand that it isn't the same as an normal auto but is a manual box with twin clutches and an automatic shift. It gives lightening quick changes. Grandalf
Nissan Micra.Hasn't got a gearbox. Sounds odd at first but is a super little runabout. [/quote B-well has ,4speed auto ,bill car . B-well hasn't! Constant Variable Transmission (CVT). Constant drive on a variable 'belt' system. Two year old Micra. norfolk dumpling
If you don't need four seats try a SMART car - wife has had a couple of these and loved them. Made by Merc so well put together. Only the fact she was ferrying oldies around meant move to bigger motor. Good in snow - far far better than the Saab I had at he time. Yes, the only difference is Audi brand it 's-tronic' and VW is DSG. I've just got a mk7 golf with the DSG, it is genuinely absolutely fabulous! I love it! Despite being an auto, you have the ability to have so much manual control too. I'd heavily consider the polo DSG. Dave
