stuartbrierley
pigeonblasterian out last night with Stuart on a new permission.A rather large garden surrounded by fields and hedgerows.Owner having a lot of bother with the rabbits eating and ruining his plants so asked if we could get rid of as many as we could.Got there at 1730 and we shot till 2100 when it started to rain so we took shelter in vans.Kept raining so we packed in at 2130 with 20 rabbits and a magpie.Three of the rabbits had myxi so not in photo and went to house to tell owner we were going and he was really pleased and gave us a tenner each for our effort.Told us to just go any time and let him know how we get on and he will see us al right for keeping them down. old'un
Well done, nice when it all comes together like that, lets hope myxy does not wipe them all out. Strange how Yorkshire as always had a good head of rabbits, gundog breeder and trainer Ian Openshaw used to take a trailer full of dogs up there to steady them on the rabbits, it was better than his rabbit pen because of the amount of natural flushes he could have during the day. Some years back a mate of mine used to shot a big estate up Yorkshire with the keeper and a team of guns and dogs, it was nothing for them to shot 300-400 rabbits a day.
