Holland7
Hi, I am now settling back in the North after moving around the country with work for the last 20 years. I have shot all my life but never done what I would call 'proper' wildfowling and really want to get involved. Are there any Hartlepool Wildfowlers out there who could get in contact? I live near Thirsk in North Yorkshire and have checked out the club facebook page which only makes me want to get involved more. Holland7
Cheers, I have shot plenty of ducks but always on flight ponds and stalking off rivers and drainage ditches. Have always wanted to get into proper wildfowling. Thanks a lot. Charlie
figgy
Hartlepool Wildfowlers isnt just wildfowling they have a couple of game shoots in with there membership costs. figgy
To be honest your not that far from the west coast and Morecomb and Grange over sands they must have fowling clubs too. Id be looking at both from your central location and the Humber from around Goole on the Ouse. I think you will find any farms and ponds or lakes round North Yorkshire will give you more shooting wildfowl than on the Marshes at Seal Sands Hartlepool. Holland7
Figgy, What do you suggest? Would putting a trawl on here be any use or is it going to be a knocking on doors job? Would love to more of that type of stuff but also hugely interested in going onto the foreshore.

Grange is out because part of there rules is you have to know at least 2 people that are in the club and been members for over 3 years. I was just the other week discussing this with the local gun shop as I was enquiring about joining myself.
Holland7
Thanks for the heads up, at least it narrows my search!
figgy
Yes get to know some local farmers and knock on doors for Pigeon crow and goose control, the crops get hammered and like them pushing off. By all means contact Hartlepool just saying your ideally located to take advantage of both coasts, try the BASC permit scheme for fowling clubs to get out on a marsh and see what and where suits you. Holland7
Been checking the maps and I reckon Holy Island is going to a bit to far a trek. Think best options are looking like Hartlepool and the Humber.
