Fuji Shooter
Went to look at a Discovery 3 yesterday the HSE model. Although I loved the car I could not help but feel impending doom when I looked at all of the electronic kit on it. Anyone own one of these and how are you getting on. Highlandladdie
I have one. Tbh, I love it......and hate it 😁. It has been a good car to me. Expensive to run and repair. But nothing else comes close (apart from a new one) for comfort, refinement, and as a family car it is superb. I've been looking to change it, I've tried new shogun, landcruiser, all the pickups and tbh I think I'm going to go for another Disco. sishyplops
Its not something for the home mechanic , the body has to be lifted off for engine work such as cam belts, this is the reason TD5 disco 2's are slowly climbing in price and some low Milage models are more expensive than newer Disco 3's
Highlandladdie
the body has to be lifted off for engine work such as cam belts, This is untrue. LR will do that, but it can easily be done without doing that. Just had the belts done on mine by a LR specialist £350. LR steelership, removing body etc £1400. Fuji Shooter
I would have bought a D2 but can't find a half decent one around here.
Highlandladdie
Go for 06 onwards. The early ones had electrical gremlins. D1&2 rust is the enemy. D3 complicated electronics. But you can get diagnostic tools. But they are pricey, bout £

viking
i was thinking of getting one myself,or a range rover sport but iv heard way to may bad and expensive things about them, as much as id love to get either of them i just couldnt do it, and normally with me if i want something i go get it regardless, land rover specialist over the road said not to touch either with a barge pole, thats what put the final nail in the coffin. im now thinking defender again or maybe a freelander with the hst kit on it, 2008-2010, but er indoors would not be impressed if i got a defender, but then again im still loving my D2, no problems with it whatsoever, and does everything i need it to
