Footu
Hi chaps, Looking for advice on this one, ive google earthed some gullies that look promising but not sure when would be best time to try? On an incoming tide, outgoing or low tide mid day when everyone else has finished flight? Dont want to upset people by moving around during flight time so unsure how to proceed and have a good chance. Any help welcomed. anser2
There are no hard and fast rules it all depends on what the birds do on your individual marsh. Even on the same marsh there may be some creeks the duck like on a rising tide and others they like on the ebb. All I would say is the colder the weather the more likely the duck will be in your creeks in daylight. You might do better to find a spot the duck like and decoy it. marsh man
Check them out during daylight hours and preferably at the bottom of the tide , but BEWARE if you haven't got a dog , be very weary when or if you have cross them and remember the local bird watchers might be watching you as well as the birds . If anything like our drains / gullies / creeks or whatever yours are known by, the bottoms consist of silt mud and are dangerous to cross , even more so in bad light and with a fast flood tide making up , so have a wander round mid day when the marsh is quiet , you wont know until you try ...... GOOD LUCK

Konnie
Also wind direction, try and look for creeks, if this is what you are on about where the wind blows across the top, on a windy day fowl are not silly and will look for some shelter from the elements. But this is not a rule.
Richie10
Do you mean creeping up on birds to shoot them?
