Cranfield
I have a Benelli Mod 70 20ga semi auto and I am trying to find out if it is OK for steel. The barrel markings are , PSF (one rosette emblem) , FNC or FNIC (one rosette emblem), KG 0.600 or KG 0600 , 15.8 , CAM 70 and there is another emblem looks like wings over a small box. All the markings are not that clear. Any information would be appreciated.

HDAV
HP steel? Or just steel standard loads? https://basc.org.uk/technical/ http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/298688-standard-steel-cartridge-for-20-bore/
bruno22rf
Ring the importer to be sure but I would guess that if the gun is not too old then it should be fine with steel - tighter chokes though would be best avoided.
Cranfield
The gun is 1980 I believe, I will check the serial number and try to post a photo, but the marks are not that clear. The loads would be standard steel loads.
bruno22rf
Quite a few downloadable manuals on the Benelli site - or you could email them?
dodeer
As long as choke is half or less you are ok using standard steel 24 loads
Gunman
Its 37 years old .When it was made no one even thought of steel shot .Point is it is 37 years old so what does it matter ?
HDAV
Standard steel should be ok it's only old Damascus barrels that have issues with standard steel iirc as the loads are designed to stay within the existing proof ranges for nitro powders. 1/2 choke or less should be fine.
