sishyplops
Hi all my beretta S686 1987 vintage 20g does not have auto safety, as I'm going to give it to my lads when they are a bit older I want it to be auto safety, does anyone know if it needs a part or will something have been taken out to make it manual operation, as if a part has been taken out is it an easy enough job to get a part Appreciate your help Rich
Tim Kelly
Welsh Warrior on here converted mine to auto safe for me. I thought I could do it with the parts, but there's a bit more to it than I imagined and better to let someone who's done it before a few times do it for you. I expect they could do it in Richardsons in Halesworth for you or Jason at Truelock and Harris.
sishyplops
Thanks Tim I will take it to a gunsmith Phillip Webster but just wondered if it will need parts or not
JJsDad
Yes, the 680 series Beretta`s need a small (2 part) coversion kit to convert from `manual` to auo-safe. If my memory serves me correctly, the last one I procured from GMK was about £16. Fitting will cost you a bit extra, about half hour to 45mins work. ips
Most smiths will have a drawer full of the two small bits of metal that operate the safety having removed many of them from game guns
