shootthepigeon
Just remember "One on top of two", I'm not saying it's easy but if you get your setting out right and take your time it's not that hard. I am just finishing a garage extention where I was just going to attempt to go up to the damp proof course then let a friend take over, but he got too busy so I carried on. Now 3000 bricks and equivalent blocks up and I'm suitably satisfied with the results. Don't get me wrong it's not easy to start but it does get easier! Best of luck. walshie
I asked my mate who was a brickie for 30 years a similar question. His answer was if you can build a wall out of lego, you can build one out of brick. Just takes 100 times longer than a pro.
Dunkield
They have all said it, if you have common sense and practical skills you can do this, but you will be slow. I built a retaining 'wall' it's only 3 or 4 courses high, 15 years ago or so, took me all morning but I see it every day and I am still happy with the way it came out. As long as you aren't getting into building arches or anything fancy you should be fine - just take your time, don't rush it.
vampire
Got to build a bulls eye window next week, not done one since 1993 The green house base you are going to build is exactly the same ( but smaller ) as setting out a house build, you will do all the hard work but not have acres of bricks to just run in to the line, which is the easy bit. Get the concrete footings level, that will give you an easier start. Lay bricks out dry to get the bond right. Good luck
activeviii
Dave, its easy. setting out is the hardest part. get your corners right. dont let the muck dry out to quickly or it will go powdery. If i was closer dave i would bring me deck chair and watch.
