bornfree
Whilst waiting for a fox I saw a half to three quarter grown leveret being chased by a stoat they were in a 100x100yard pen of geese the leveret didn't seem to be in top gear it kept the stoat about 4 to 8 ft behind and they did about two laps before the stoat gave up.its surprising how quick a stoat is with its little legs. sitsinhedges
Hares don't usually go full throttle unless they are under pressure. Makes sense really.

bornfree
did you shoot the stoat ? does as much damage in a pen as a fox No didn't want to make any noise. And the geese are hitting 5kg now to much for a stoat.
Uilleachan
Stoats are hardy, but not hare hardy - even a youngster will have more in the tank than a stoat can cope with.
