steve_b_wales
I've just taken delivery of the above scope and I'm delighted with it. In the box, there are two 1/2 circle plastic 'brackets', one smaller than the other. There's nothing in the instruction manual that explains what they are for. Any idea? steve_b_wales
They are used to unscrew your flip up caps Ah Ha! To be honest, I did wonder if they were to do with the caps, but haven't tried them yet (the scope itself is still unwrapped in the box) Thanks. It did make me laugh when I see the question as it baffled me when I see them in the box (the gun shop put the scope together) only found out what they did was when I wanted to put the sunshade on and was wondering how the flip up caps came off. When I owned one of these scopes a few years ago, it did'nt come with the covers. These were already attached to the scope. I only received it yesterday evening and have been on night shift last night, and another tonight. I'm happy with the scope, and looking forward to zeroing it on my Howa 1500 Varmint .204 Ruger. I'm a huge fan of hawke scopes have them on all my rifles, I could be wrong but I think the more expensive scopes from hawke automatically come with the flip up covers. Walker570
I think you will be well satisfied. I personally found the 'clips' on the flip up caps a nuisance so just nipped of the little connectors and the caps still close ok but open far easier ... heh! that's me, may be fine for you. Enjoy Me too. I've had a few these past few years. The Endurance range are not cheap, but they carry a 10 year warranty. This scope will be excellent to use with my 204 Ruger rifle. My last Endurance I bought, many years ago, didn't have the covers attached, but had slip on ones.

I'm not a fan of covers etc and can see me removing them. They do protect the lens of course, but I don't usually use them. I know I'll be satisfied with the scope. I had the same model a few years ago. I've also used some of the lower priced Hawke scopes and have always praised them.
