Gerry78
Cheers yes it will either be a 222 or
cooooper1
This I went through this when I needed a fox rifle and this was the deciding factor. I went for 223 as the factory ammo is available in a lot more places. Saying that I reload now anyway agree, for me its all down to ammo, both good fox guns Edited October 8, 2017 by cooooper1
belly47
Just been out for a quick hour with my .222 not much about so thought I would try a long range pigeon. now this was the longest shot I have ever attempted at 278 yards measured with the laser. strelok said I would need 12 clicks adjustment for elevation and there was not a breath of wind. I have never used a chronograph to check velocities etc and only used the information available from hornady when inputting data into strelok. I would say my rifle is performing very well without the need to reload. that said it is the most expensive pigeon I've ever shot ! Whitester
I was going to say 243, possibly more versatile if you come across the odd deer as well
Gerry78
For me to get a 243 in Northern Ireland id have to do the DSC1 Then look for deer land permissions to get the rifle so lads will be a 222 /223 for the odd fox
Denboy
I’d go for a
WelshMike
You cant suggest a .243 as the title only gives 2 options and .243 isnt one... ..but I have 2 .243 rifles and its a cracking round
