SNAKEBITE
I am expecting a parcel from the U.S. and have signed up for the "tracking info" to be emailed to me. It has arrived in customs, left customs and reputed to have had a failed delivery The times given were when we were at home! Any ideas on how this works? I am told 2 failed deliveries and it's retur to sender. Not ideal.
Oly
They drive around and if they are so stupid they can't find your house they don't ask anyone, ring you on the number on the package, use GPS, or ring the office to ask where your house is...they simply park up for 2 hours over lunch and record it as a failed delivery. Don't stand for it, call the manager of your local depot! You should name and shame the buggars on here too, I know a few, including me, that I don't use Parcelforce anymore. Dunkield
It won't go back to it's sender it will go a local (ish) depot. Ring them up and quote your tracking number, they will tell you where the it is. You will be amazed/horrified to find out how many drops they do in a day - they can't hang about. Not quite true at all, Parcel force are the worst now for allegedly carding parcels if they can't find the address or if you are out of the way. But thats because they made a lot of drivers self employed and pay them per drop and if they have to re-deliver don't pay them. Theres only a couple of companies its likely to be if its coming from the US and as said find out who it is as you never know they may have the wrong address on the parcel if they say they've attempted it. Easiest option is just to pop and collect it if they are nearby.
Cranfield
I have had similar experiences and the call to the local Depot works, I also tell them that I paid for an express service (don't be specific) and may seek a refund off the Seller, this ensures I get it the next day before noon. I don't think "naming and shaming" works, I have had poor service from every well known parcel carrier, including a temporary Postman, who seemed incapable of pushing the door bell to tell us he had a parcel to deliver. Oly
Parcelforce are a nightmare around us, and our "local" depot is a 60 mile round trip! It's not even like we live out in the back of beyond either! I just either ask for a company not to send it Parcelforce or buy from another supplier. al4x
thats why they're a nightmare. But to give all the overnights their due rates charged are peanuts and competition is fierce, add to that home deliveries when people so often aren't in then its not easy making a living. al4x
you'd be fine if you lived down south but I think they sub out a lot of work up North so it may take a bit longer
