nnorman32
Hello got my hands on a basic Manufrance Pump action 12g. Can't find a manual or information online, anyone had / got one and can tell me about it? "Acier Special" is stamped on it but I think this may relate to the metal rather than the model, possibly a Rapid ? Cheers. N.

Jaymo
Acier is Steel so would infer that it’s proofed for steel possibly? Try Manuchasse too in your search as we have some slug guns made by them and it’s possible the same? Sorry to not be of any greater help ps, don’t forget that when you search to type in Manufrance POMPE and not pump Edited December 8, 2017 by Jaymo

mudpatten
I think the Acier refers to the type of steel, or the fact that it is steel - it`s actually French for steel, that the barrel is made from, it most certainly is`nt steel shot proofed since it`s year of manufacture long predates steel shot. Manufrance stopped making this gun in the early 1980`s.
fronty61
I am a happy owner of a Manufrance pump 12 bore, 26 inch bbl, bought from the Bosher earlier this year..based on Remington 870, but with alloy block ( weighs under 6.5 lbs. ) Some parts interchange..Manufrance made parts for Remington back in the 80s, the 870 manual is quite relevant. When you pull the barrel to clean, forend needs to be about halfway in ( or out ?). These are so cheap, better to buy a spare gun, and swap bits as needed. These are tough guns though, and well made ! Nice light walk up or hide gun, fine on clays. NOT ammo fussy..clean as needed ( i.e barrel only till action stiffens up ?) If 870 appeals, see Bosher for a nice one at half the price ( or less). Hope this helps !
fronty61
I do use standard steel, having checked barrel was in as new condition..BUT only through 1/2 choke or larger, and only for shoreline shooting. These were built for lead, but steel was in regular use in the States then. Wouldn`t use steel any more than I need to !
fronty61
Check Art`s gunshop site ? for Lasalle exploded view as Manufrance pump and autos were sold as Lasalle in the 80s, also rebadged as Colt Coltsman ?
