Hi all,

I need a one piece rod and patches for my Anschutz 1517 .17HMR.

I have a tetra .17 cleaning kit but can’t get the jag with a patch on it down the bloody barrel.

Anyone got any recommendations. Can’t seem to fond Dewey rods anywhere anymore.

Reloading Solutions sell the Dewey rods and an aluminium jag. Have you tried pinning the patch nearer a corner and making sure that it's well soaked to begin with?

Been onto them today for a bore guide for my 1517 but they won’t have any in till March.

Maybe they will have some rods in stock.

best rod on the market is the tipton carbon fibre ,expensive but the dogs danglies. Had dewey but find the plastic/paint coating gives a false impression on the patches as to how dirty your barrel is

What jags do you use with those?

Will call around tomorrow.

Think I’m gonna put the .17 away for a bit as I’ve done enough cleaning with this rod and no bore guide. Don’t want to damage the barrel.

Just noticed the groups opening up a bit the other day hence wanting to clean it better.

any recommendations for solvents @telf @mick miller
