Sorry didn't mean to be. The Sak will definitely suppress it but it will burn out. The HMR does, and it's only got 7 grain of powder in, the hornet nearly twice the amount. You could say that with the Sak being just £30 It's a disposable item. 

 

Im a few hundred rounds into my sak with the hornet plus the thousand or so 22lr. No change to the level of moderation. I haven’t checked the baffles lately but they were fine the last I checked them.  The Sak was rated for the 22hornet for a long time on the manufacturer’s website, before the new 17 hornet was released. I was shooting my ackley hornet through it at the time. They have since changed the page I think. 

 

And as dougy says, a sak is cheap.  Last I checked around, a sak was 30 quid. The cheapest centerfire mod was a bit bigger and running at least 120. That is 4 sak mods I can burn out if I really want to for the price of one bigger and heavier mod.  Seems like a no brained to me.

The Wildcat Whisper for HMR is also not recommended for the Hornet, yet I know a guy who has been using it on his Hornet for years with no sign of damage.

Small, light, good suppression and no sign of wear after several years use.
