ShaggyRS6
Has anyone done one? Would be a good addition to the site, cos I am not entirely sure when it comes to cleaning them, what you should use, what you should not, how to clean the barrel etc etc. Just an idea.... I'd do one if I knew what I was doing. I just point and shoot it

ShaggyRS6
I'm just a dunce when it comes to stuff like that. It's like the car, I aint got a clue how it works, it just works. With Rifles though I want to learn all I can about them. The outside is not a problem, its the other bits that concern me, I dont want to start using stuff on it I should'nt

beatingisbest
How to clean an air-rifle...you don't! Thats basically it! I just give the outside a wipe over with an oily rag.
Mark M
I would have thought the rifling would need to be cleaned now and again, Especially if you use dirty pellets.
SNAKEBITE
The two schools of thought are Yes...... and No. However I believe consistencey is the key. Once you have cleaned the barrel then you have to keep cleaning it as the POI can wander if you don't. However the constant zero checks we all do should prevent that shouldn't it? The amount of lead left in the barrell is minute and not really an issue. I only cleaned my barrell once and that was because I was paranoid about it. Only later I realised that perhaps it wasn't worth the bother. Using pellet lube can help and will also leave a thin film of oil in the barrell so preventing corrosion, another cause of having to clean the pipes. Ah now them using lube without first cleaning the barrel with a rod would cause any lead dust to stick more, Then with there being oil in the barrel you would get dieseling which could leave carbon! So give it a good rodding first then use lube P.S. hey Snakebite i corrected your spelling mistakes above for you

BSA Shaun
How to clean an air-rifle...you don't! I second that, not as if there are any combustables involved etc. Apart from the outside, wipe that with an oily rag. Oh and you can get a brush for the inside of the barrel. With your financial floatation tho, get someone else to do it
