Yes, G.T. was of an enquiring and open mind.

Really enjoyed his AYA XXV in later years.

Think he shot with a Winchester 101 if I remember right.

Below is Nel.

My rough rustic French peasant!

All rust when she came to live with me.

Mot much better now.

Had to make a top lever spring.

Locks up tight

16 bore, 27 1/2 inch tubes.

5 3/4 pounds.

Seems to be made by Verney Carron.

Fits like a glove and would be ideal for ferreting!

I Like her!

No class but I Still like her!20250219_113114.jpg.a7396f4c7f96a54c859f502fce036052.jpg20250219_113125.jpg.d8f423394b2493a0550c6873a26eb313.jpg20250219_113132.jpg.d5356600586c281a91ac4dac07151647.jpg20250219_113147.jpg.9f87b919494f617b3ff8a47ddb049387.jpg

My two, although the lowermost, 16 bore, has now gone to auction. Both late 1920s Manufrance Fusil Robust 28E models. French guns are either cutting edge or almost sublime and superb or absolutely bloomin awful.

I've owned one of two. The Unique company made good guns and the MAB P-15 was a better gun than the Browning P-15.

Problem is though like everything if you are first everybody says "Wow". Thus the 1886 Lebel rifle. But if you are second or third you get it right. So on the heels of the 1886 came the 1888 Mauser but behind that was the 1895 Magazine Lee Enfield.

They both look very handleable guns, Enfield!

Hope the 16 does you well!

I dont know how I would describe mine.

Feels good ..lovely triggers...

I do have a Manufrance 12 in bits at the moment. Need to make both mainsprings!

That one is a number four whatever that means.

On the inside the work is as rough as a badgers a**e, but its tight and handles well.

The one above handles so well its hard to put down!
