Aldo
Just in case anyone's interested .. here's http://www.filehigh.com/viewimg.php?f=40009&i=449755 a picture of my Sako Quad in 22 with Harris Bipod, SAK moderator and AGS SWAT 4-16x56 Scope. I've had it a week and got 5p groups at 50 yards and around 2" groups at 100 yards (all with CCI Velocitors) I tried various ammo including Vipers, Eley HV, as well as Winnie Subs but the best HV ammo by far was the Velocitors. The Winnies grouped well at up to 50 yards (slightly better than the Vels) but after that nothing could touch the Vels. Also .. It looks like I'm selling my Air Arms 410 FAC Xtra and wanted to make sure about something .. I know I put the info down on the buyers ticket and write to my Firearms people to let them know but do I need to send my ticket off for the Firearms people to remove the 410 from my ticket or does that get done next variation/renewal (I could ask my FLO but thought that you guys would know while I'm on anyway
JohnGalway
Hi there Aldo, nice looking Quad (same as mine ). I found Eley subs best in mine strangely enough, 1/2" @60 & 1" @ 100. Do you have any trouble with CCI's and the botl being hard to close or unfired rounds not being extracted? Good luck and shooting with your new rifle
Aldo
Yes the bolt does need a little more of a shove to get it to close and yes I get the occational problem with an unfired round not coming out but the greatly improved long range accuraccy with the Velocitors makes them my first choice for now (at least until I can find something better) I'm sure that my grouping will improve too once I get some more practice but only having to hold over 1.5 mildots at 100 yards when zero'd at 50 is quite an insentive to stick with HV ammo (the subs drop so much more quickly) Hi there Aldo, nice looking Quad (same as mine ). Out of curiosity - and not critiscism in any way, why are you going the velocitor route with the .22 barrel rather than use a HMR barrel for the longer range stuff? Long story but Surrey firearms choose 22LR over 17HMR despite ricochet issues.
Aldo
Breaking news .. Have been trying even more ammo and have now found my rifles' favourite ammo .. Eley Subs (extras) Before I tried them the CCI Velocitors were best at longer ranges but the Eleys group consistantly better than the others with the best group at 125 yards being just over an inch (yes I know .. I can't believe it myself!) I've zero'd at 70 yards which gives me 1mildot over for 100 yards, 2 for 125 yards and 1 below for 50 yards. Most of the bunnies I've had on the land I shoot have been at 100-125 yards and I very rarely miss using the bipod. I was refused the 17 HMR for this land (long story) but this rifle with Eleys makes the disapointment a lot easier to handle. It still amazes me that the gun is quieter with subs than my FAC airifle! john faul
Hi all could anyone teel me how much a sako quad costs and does it only come with one barrel?
JohnGalway
Depends where you buy it. Mine was 750 Euro. You can buy it with just one barrel yes, remember each of the four calibre barrels will have to be licenced seperately as if they were individual rifles.
