2.15 pm might be a bit early if the field hadn't been shot throughout the day , although now the nights are drawing in I don't think the op would get much shooting from 5pm, certainly not worth doing a 80 mile return trip as most of the pigeons that have been undisturbed would have a full crop and are not likely to come back once they have walked off .

Why not look on a Friday night , and if he think its worth a go then go earlier on a Saturday.
