paul1966
went for my second intro at kibworth sg yesterday, 25 clays and managed to hit all 25, admittedly they were easy targets but i was pleased anyway. yesterday was more fine tuning my technique. booked in for another intro in a month, after that i will probably hire the club gun and have a go on my own, the intro's are £40 a pop so can't afford more than one a month. thinking of applying for a sgc so i don't have to have a chaperone when i go on my own. does anyone on the board shoot at kibworth? pin
Currently you don't need to show good reason for owning a shotgun. Get that app in now, they will guide you through the rest. Sounds like we have a natural on our hands!

Sounds like we have a natural on our hands! wouldn't say a natural, perhaps just lucky. funny thing was i found it easier to hit the targets i did not have time to think about. the ones going away from me left to right i dusted but the ones coming towards me left to right i usually took a chip out the clay, usually on the front edge even though i didn't think i gave it much lead. thoroughly enjoyed it though. you could certainly go through some cartridges, the 25 lasted about 30 minutes!. off to see what's involved in applying for a sgc. one thing i am wondering, is it worth buying a gun cabinet even though at the moment i have no intentions of buying one, certainly not in the short term? do the police usually expect you to have a cabinet fitted? garyb
I suggest you fit it before the interview with the officer. He will only need to come back again if you haven't installed one - which will add delays to whole process.
Markio
Nice score Paul. I was recommended a book called 'Breaking Clays', it's a good read and worth it if you fancy getting into clays.
Bagsy
Well done mate, it's always good to see someone enjoying the sport and wanting to get a SGC. The Met's site has some good info on getting a SGC and the process, here's the link Met Police website
