Robertt
When I've got time I Lure fish the Leeds and Liverpool Canal between Haskayne in South Lancs through to Melling, toward Aintree Racecourse. Last week I saw 11 dead Eels in a 2 mile section. Fished out a fresh one which had no signs of being hooked, thus ruling out deliberate catch and kill. Being quite a hardy fish I'm wondering what could have caused this. Saw a bit of a fish kill in 2006, which turned out to be the water board using some sort of weed killer. That time it was Eels, Tench and Pike took the hit. But this time Eels only ????

They're under enough pressures in our waterways as it is; they don't need some some wretched little pathogen screwing things up even further. If it was a club water, I'd let the club know too
JRDS
Might be weather related with poor oxygen levels, seen dead Pike in numbers in my local canal
