Tford
Hi all, I need to add an inch to my Beretta 687 silver pigeon III (30 inch barrels) due to my unusually gangly arms, and I see Beretta do a polymer extension to add between the stock and recoil pad. Having tried a slip on extension this looks likely to cure my bruised cheekbone! The online stockists seem to advertise the spacers for 'field/game' stock. Before I order does anyone know whether it'll fit my stock? Thanks Tf223 Edited August 21, 2018 by Tford Clarity
TIGHTCHOKE
Have a look at the Beretta Estore.
Fil
Field stocks are smaller in dimension (height and width at toe and heel) than Sporter stocks. Whenever I order OE butt plates or pads off the boys in the work shop at GMK they always ask because of this. So you will have either a Field or a Sporter 687. Assuming it is all original. It’s a sporter as far as I can tell from the beretta website... which is annoying as an inch spacer in sporting appears rare!! Thanks both
Gunman
Dont forget that when you take the original heel plate off you can be shortening the stock by up to 3/8" .So the 1" you want may need to be 1&3/8" plus . Would suggest you get a gunsmith to fit a wooden extension that can be removed and original plate refit if and when you want to change it . I did loads like this in the past on O/U's of all makes without any problems . Just go for a colour match and they look fine , better than spacers and a pad on top . Thanks both It's easy to tell them apart. The sporter has a manual safety whereas the field model is auto safety.

Tford
Update - the sporter/competition extensions fit my sporting shotgun perfectly. Needed two half inch ones but they stack. Simply take off the existing recoil pad add in the polymer extensions between the stock and recoil pad and add recoil pad back on to the end with some longer screws. Fits perfectly, looks original keeping the look of the gun... and a damn site better than the slip on butt extensions. Chuffed... now for sale in the sales section - a leather butt extension.
