Steveveets
Hi anyone else interested in WW2 rifles and firearms? Attached (Hopefully?) my collection so far (L to R) Yugoslavian re-worked Mauser k98k, Savage Arms produced Lee Enfield No4 Mark 1/3 and an M44 Mosin Nagant carbine. team tractor
Seen an old boy in his 80s /90s use one and was almost in tears after he had the recoil hit his shoulder lol. Would these be used in ww2 or just spares sold off after. ?? Always wondered
bluesj
There are a few guns I would like just for the fun of owning and shooting then, a Lee Enfield 303 is one of them.
Steveveets
Yes we are able to use a local MOD range usually twice a month. The Mosin is good fun with quite a big muzzle flash using milsurp ammo!!!
TriBsa
Nice collection. Looks like the Upper Hand Guard has crept forward on the No4, if it's touching the Foresight it will affect accuracy.
Steveveets
Thanks for the advice TriBsa I will check that?
Steveveets
Hi Tribes you were absolutely right the front band screw had worked loose and the hand guard had crept forward. All moved back and tightened up now. Many thanks!!!
WinchesterDave
Great collection. I've only ever fired and SMLE and No.4 but many years ago. I've always wants to have a go with the a K98 and Mosin Nagant! Me and my dad had a collection of ww1 and ww2 deacts which included a lovely 1940 K98 and a No.4 and SMLE amongst others, which have now been moved on to fund shotguns etc. I have always been fascinated by military history and weaponary so I really appriciate your trio there! Cheers, Dave
Steveveets
Hi WinchesterDave well if you are in Winchester you could join my club (South Hants Rifle and Pistol Club) and you could shoot all 3 !! Just got back from Tipner range at Portsmouth after shooting the k98 for the 1st time - all good and an enjoyable morning. Thanks for complimentary remarks, still looking for an M1 Garand and a Japanese ww2 rifle to complete the set!
