The Heron
I have just checked mine its as good as the day I purchased it have you had it where someone has been grinding mild steel and the sparks have landed on it this would cause rust spots. theosmith
No dodgey storage at all..... Gmk are going to be bead blasting the rust off out of the chamber and I shall more than likely have to have it cerkoated Not to happy about this but not alot I can do just seems quality has become **** and shall be my last tikka for me. I will state I've a 204 who has seen every bit of UK weather and not a blemish looked after and stored in the same way

The Heron
This is a strange one I have a .308 which has been out in all types of weather over the years with no rust problems I suggest that you contact Tikka with the serial number of your rifle it appears that there may be a problem with that particular batch of s. steel it was made from.
