The Mighty Prawn
Common sense and well played by the Assembly, how many of these petitions reach silly numbers where many are multiple posts from the same people and people from overseas with no interest beyond pushing their anti agenda
panoma1
The extremist animal "rights" groups have been using this tactic for years! Mobilising like minded signatories throughout the world, to bulk up their class driven, anti shooting petitions, via social and other media.........when the false, duplicated, those living outwith the area concerned, and class hating extremists are removed, there will be just a handful of the local anti shooting activists left! Like all extremists they have in the past deliberately misinterpreted, twisted and exploited the system to their own ends.........to them "the end justifies the means" I'm glad the Assembly seems to have, at last "rumbled" this! panoma1
On this topic, it is reported that Joe Sugg's social media, Facebook, Twitter etc, followers, have tried to fix the result of Strictly come Dancing, by encouraging his fans, via a social media campaign, to exploit a loophole, allowing anyone from outwith this country to vote for him!.....disturbingly, it seems obvious that many of these petitions/votes are now plainly being rigged! Surely none of these petitions can be taken into account and/or relied upon by the authorities, when making controversial decisions? As they are open to being skewed by extremists, political activists and/or vested interests.
scotslad
But are we not just as guilty of it?? (Ony pretty rubbish at it, mainly due to apathy) How often is there a thread on here linking some random petion or poll about shooting. Fair enough a properly worded well thoughout petion but some are just complete drivel even thou the intention was good. Same with local papers polls, even if i feel strongly about the subject having a raft of folk from outside that 'local' area just demeans the poll and makes it worthless. Many local rural type papers aren't completely anti and would write a balanced or favourable piece if the evidence supported it I think something has to change with online petions, in the past getting 100K people to stop and actually physically sign a petion is quite some achievement now with a click of a button many might not even have a clue wot they've signed for
