dusk2dawn
Monks from the multi-faith Skanda Vale community in Carmarthenshire appealed against an assembly government ruling that the animal must be put down. Their lawyers argued it would breach the Human Rights Convention. and I thought it was a cow whoever came up with the human rights convention never thought it would be turned to save a cow with TB what about the rights of others who dont have TB but may get infected as a result? as per norm its all bollix and clap trap According to the news on the radio this morning he has no Bollix :o and is in fact a Bullock, the whole issue is a load of balls anyway, there cannot be one rule for some and financial disaster for others. It often comes as a surprise to learn that they are also real people, living and working in the twenty-first century. For there are still monasteries of monks and nuns in England, most of them belonging to the Roman Catholic Church, all of them witnessing to God by their life of prayer and by a rich variety of works including teaching, running parishes, giving retreats, Yes and quite often fiddling with things they should not be some monks have disgusting Habits

dusk2dawn
People from Defra in with the cow now. Apparently it was slaughtered last night, and so it should be IMO (now ducking behind the wall ) D2D
Cranfield
Whilst accepting that "rules are rules" and Defra did not want to create a dangerous precedent, this whole episode smacks of officialdom showing no skills in commonsense. Allegedly, 30 policemen, 2 Veterinarys, 8 men from the Ministry and an estimated £150,000 cost (how that is made up I haven't a clue), certainly seems like a sledgehammer to crack a very small nut. farmboy
I'm glad that they have finally done the deed. Although I can understand why they were upset, keeping the bullock alive would have set a potentially dangerous precident. There was a smallholder down this way about a year ago who kicked up a fuss about a calf being slaughtered because of bovine tb. Its just as well that common sense prevailed. We had another herd test done the other day. One of our cows has come back as inconclusive for a second time. As whe are under severe restrictions, she will have to go on wednesday. The gutting thing is that she's due to have a calf in a month.
digger
Farmboy, mate of mine has the same problem. One of his beef cattle was slaughtered and now they are not so sure so they are waiting for further tests to see if the carcass can either be processed or burnt. I hear its down to lesions, if they are visible in the trachea then its definately TB ? Its not so much the fact the animal was destroyed but the fact it was at the whim of an over paid ministry vet that hacks me off. Same bunch of **** that happily took money from our pockets during the foot and mouth slaughter. May they all rot in hell
cartridge
it stickens me even if a animal has tb you can still eat it fully cook safely(no red steaks lol) its a blatant waste of meat
