SPARKIE
where can i get a muzzle break from to fit a .22 cz varmint also are they universal could i use it on a .17hmr of a .22wmr as ive been told not to use a silencer when useing mini mag ammo and i havnt got a screw on thread protector so i think a muzzle break is the option to go for.cheers sparkie

Sussexboy
That's not the one I bought, mine was about £35, it may be worth giving them a ring. Other place to try may be Chambers gun makers as they sell a lot of stuff like this. Don't know if its OK for 22 rimfire though.

Oly
Just wondering Sparkie, what do you want a muzzle brake for a .22 rimfire anyway?? Other than to protect the thread when the mod if off, but surely that's the point of a .22 - for quietness??
SPARKIE
like it says at the top m8 ive been told not to use a silencer when shooting mini mag ammo and as this is probly what ill be shooting at bisley ill be useing a fair bit of it so dont want to risk it i dont mind shooting the odd shot through but ive just bought 500 for bisley so im thinking of taking the silencer off and fitting a muzzle brake i dont have a scraw on cap for the gun as it never came with one so want to purchase 1 i dont really know why you shouldnt use a silencer with the as the silencer should be proofed for .22wmr whish has aroud 4x the power so dont understand and as ive been told by 3 rfd now the5re bmust be some reason for it.sparkie

SPARKIE
ive everytime i buy some ive im told not to use a silencer been told this at garlands and countryman but not sure why not unless its the ammount of pressure because of the charge.. Dunkield
I am not a great user of .22's at 100 yards but I think you will find good quality subs will be more accurate/consistant than anything CCI make. You could always pull them apart and use them to get the bar-b-q going though

Dunkield
The British Smallbore Rifle Club have a shop at Bisley Sparkie, if you want any ammo (not hollow point) they do most things at pretty reasonable prices too
SPARKIE
ive looked at the price list and its cheaper to take my own m8 ive allready bought 500 rounds to take now just got to get some .22wmr and .17hmr ammo now

Well I'm baffled because the same moderators for Long rifle are used on HMR now ............Your sak on your HMR is exactly the same as one on a .22lr This IMO is a classic example of airing on the side of caution . dunganick
well thats what i cant understand if i use a silencer which is proofed to 22wmr y not use on .22lr you can use a .22wmr mod on a .22lr, anyone who says otherwise is probably trying to sell you a new mod. wouldnt recomend using an HMR mod on a .22lr
Graham M
wouldnt recomend using an HMR mod on a .22lr Wouldn't it just make the hole bigger. G.M.
