oowee
This gets asked lots on here and the simple answer is to put yourself about, getting to know people and knocking on doors. There are a few paid opportunities about too and that for me was a good way to start before I got my own perms. You can knock on doors cold or better still when you see some crop damage or concentration of birds take the chance and make that call. Scully
I know the season is a bit off yet, and as someone else pointed out, work may limit your opportunities, but if you're rural there will be shoots, and shoots need beaters. Get to know where they are and then get to know the people who are involved. Knocking on doors does work however. It's all down to how and when you approach the landowner.
