the last engineer
so, i cant hold it in any longer, i bought another property here in sherwood park where i live, and this sunday afternoon i took the mrs up to see the peeps ive bought off, friends of mine for years (brits also) her indoors hasn't seen the place yet, they are selling up and moving to Halifax to enjoy retirement. so we are on the back deck having a beer or two listening to the Merlin's playing up in the conifers, they are a wonderful sight and sound, i have 2 pair in close proximity to my house, about a mile away, Andy starts telling me of the "Peregrine" the guy had next door ears perk up, oh yeah he says he brings all sorts home, owls, hawks ,eagles, peregrines ect ect ect, methinks he's had enough wobbly pops until he says " lets go and see him, off we pop and to my absolute amazement he's right, there at the side of the house is an aviary with a large Barred owl sat on a perch, the neighbour comes out and asks if we'd like to go in,,,,,, "is the pope a catholic" i cry, doing a double take on the neighbour gears start turning and dust is blown away, we start talking about raptors and owls for some time when i notice im doing the open mouthed goon look at a man who knows a gazzillion times more than i could ever about birds of prey. to say i was awe struck is an understatement, this man was just another guy talking about something he is passionate about, my friend passes on a picture of a peregrine taken from the back yard, its on a couple of site's but im hoping it comes up. it turns out my new neighbour is a little more than i had imagined,,,,,,,,,,, below is a link to his identity. http://www.rr.ualberta.ca/People/Index.asp...ory&id=1189 i hope to spend some more time with Gordon where possible, he has said another peregrine will be coming in soon, i await eagerly. i hope the pic comes out, mine is a 12"x24" going to the frame shop tonight.
