Feltwad
In the 1950 s there were several shot towers in England the closest to me was the shot tower at Elswick Works Newcastle -Upon- Tyne owned by the Associated Lead Manufactures ,I bought all my shot from them at a cost of £7 a cwt delivered ,I understand it was demolished for the metro line Feltwad

figgy
Gamebore still have their own shot tower and drop their own shot. Proper cartridges uses locotelli tower dropped shot. Plenty of manufacturers still use them.
K85
Im surprised its still viable cost wise to use a tower.
figgy
Wonder why you think a tower isn't viable cost wise. You only have to get raw lead ingots to the top via a hoist. The melting pot and power is up there the same as on ground shot makers. Only extra cost is hoisting the lead, the dropped shot must be good or they wouldn't bother.
