Mungler
So, I was on a clay shooting charity day yesterday and the subject of count back has arisen. My understanding is that if you have two shooters tied as follow Kill Miss, Kill Kill, Kill Kill, Kill Kill, Kill Kill scoring 9 : Shooter 1 Kill Kill, Kill Kill, Kill Kill, Kill Kill, Kill Miss scoring 9 : Shooter 2 Shooter 2 wins because he drops his first target last. Have I got that right? Asking for a friend Cheers All.
Gordon R
I believe you are correct. I understand it has changed in recent years and it is worked from the last clays shot - backwards to find the shooter who missed latest.
grrclark
I thought it was the other way round. So in Mungler’s example by counting back shooter 1 has 7 points where shooter 2 has 0. Hence shooter 1 wins.
figgy
Poor way of doing things, both shoot the same and one looses. Give both a prize or split it or shoot off, if one has left the ground he forfeits the win or place by absence, only fair way.

Hence shooter 1 wins. I believe it used to be the other way around. Not sure of your maths. Counting backwards means that the one who missed right at the end, as opposed to right at the beginning - wins.
Mungler
Cheers chaps and Gordon for confirming ‘last clay dropped’. I’m with Figgy and love a shoot off - it adds to the excitement and delivers a conclusion / winner.
