apbuild
My business partner has bought an appartment, off plan, near Lake Austin, a stones throw from Disney, Florida. It isn't even finished yet and the value is soaring. I believe his contact for this deal was a company called Inside Track. They seem to deal with everythig for you. Hopefully I will be flying out there next year for a free accomodation holiday with my little one. Hope this helps mate. Rob.
Cranfield
I don't want to disagree with Rob and things can change area by area, but US property prices are collapsing at the moment. This is what caused last weeks fall in the Dow Jones and the Footsie indexes. There are a number of reasons for this, artificially low interest rates that are forecast to rise, fixed rate mortgage terms ending soon, general state of the economy, personal debt burdens a lot of people in negative equity. Also, high insurance costs on housing in "storm risk areas", it is hard to get home insurance in many parts of Florida and the Gulf Coast without paying very high premiums. I have invested in property in the US in the past and have not touched it for the last 10 years, as it is far too risky. You need to get some very good advice from an Investment Manager, definitely not from a Realtor/Estate Agent.
al4x
as Cranfield says don't do it now. Their prices are in free fall, something like a Million mortgage holders defaulted last month in the states and negative equity is rife. However keep an eye on it as there will probably be money to be made from buying when the market bottoms out
