JDog
The structure of this four year old vine was completed last year and this year has been good for the production of fruit. Too good in fact. I counted up the numbers of bunches of grapes on the four x 4m long tied out stretches and was staggered to find over 250 bunches. Bearing in mind the root shares the same space as a C. montana I decided to reduce the number by two thirds a month ago. The remaining eighty bunches are coming on fine. If we have an Indian summer to follow next weekend's heat then we might be lucky.
martinj
nice neat cordons, they look well tended, do you know what variety it is? I have a Madeline Angevine and a Chardonnay but do suffer with powdery mildew and mould. You'll know when they are ripe because Wasps start to take an unhealthy interest. I did know what the vine was but I have forgotten and the label has fallen off. It was chosen to produce green edible grapes and for it's growth potential as I didn't want anything so rampant as V. coignetiae 4 hours ago, TIGHTCHOKE said: Very nice Will Chateau Binbrook produce a Grand Cru? Sadly not but it will provide some very nice breakfast fruit..
