gemini52
I picked up a bsa air sporter mk 2 last weekend,it has had a bit of a hard life, but for a back garden plinker its fine, some previous owner had put in an ox spring, not my choice so replaced with a spare spring i had lying about, its pretty accurate out to about twenty five yards with iron sights i want to put a scope on it but the rails appear to be around twenty mill, anyone have one any info would be appreciated. Stonepark
Full bore rings from sportsmatch (TO48 or similar), or look through rings also full bore so you can use iron site with scope mounted work fine and allow for curve of reciever. Have a look on airgun bbs as there were plain rails (like the one I have) or if lugged rails points, Protek sell a modified set which can be duplicated at home. London Best
The first Mk 2’s had 2 separate short dovetails. From memory ( now dim) I think they were 19mm. Later Mk 2’s had one long cut dovetail as generally used today. I have a late Mk 2 from 1965/6.
gemini52
hi yes mine has two separate dove tails,i have found a pair of mounts that fit,so will put a scope on it when the work has been done,so assume its a early mk 2,i paid 20 quid for it.
