dazzyboi
LMAO Pin, I don't know why but I really want to do it now... Dazzy! Get off the fence and tell me what ya really think man! Iv heard peoples stories about skydiving, some hated it, some loved it. some will tell you it feels like you falling (well yes, your right!!!) others will tell you that because of the speed you are falling it feels like you are being pushed up (pin will probably put them stories in thier place When i did the bridge jump, i dont know, you jump, usually when you jump your instant brain reaction tells you, that you are going to land, BUT! you dont!!! thats when the adrenalin kicks in... :o
pin
The interweb has within it descriptions and pictures of most things, one thing it will never contain is an accurate description of what its like to abandon a completely serviceable aeroplane by choice. Trust me, it's quite something. There is a reason people devote their lives to it after the first time

Bart
JG, I done a bit of skydiving and can't recomend it enough its awsome. of those 3 options I would go for the satic line first get the hang of that and progress, the course would be intense and that could take the fun out of it and tandems are a bit lame really. Hope you get on with it and enjoy

Lancs Lad
Just to put a big dampener on it...... My uncle was in the Paras.................Needless to say..................there was a bit of an accident which resulted in him and another guy being killed on a jump.....I was about 4 or 5 at the time. From what I recall, the family never got the full story from the MOD on what happened, except it was a training accident...... I have always fancied giving it a go, but for me owld mums sake never done it........ Done a bungie jump though...........and that was quite mental...........Off Blackpool Pier......................**** myself at the top....screamed FFFFFFFFFFF and you can guess the rest on the way down....................then gave it the big YEH YEH YEH......... Oh..........and then ended up with the worst headaches I have ever had................was worried that I may have done the brain in....ended up in hospital and everything.............Another great bank holiday weekend....... decroyffe
I've jumped five times in total. The coarse was six jumps so as you can imagine, i failed. Calgary Canada was the scene. A desperate atempt to overcome my fear of heights. The coarse got off to a bad start for me. i thought we wouldn't jump the first day, but how wrong was i. Six jumpers per plane, smallest in first, (me) and out last. Tony the largerst was the first to jump. Unfortunatly he tripped in the door way and fell out of the plane, which freaked us all out. After a reasurance talk i decided to jump, and all went well. It was very odd the procedure to jump. First you moved to the door. Then with your right hand, you held the right hand side of the door frame, then the same with the left hand on the left side. After that you put you right leg out of the plane onto the step, and same again with the left leg. Once you where out, with your right hand you held the diagnal beam from the wing above and same again with the left. You then held tightly and let your legs go so you were looking something like james bond. After instuctions from the pro, you looked right at the camera, above at the spot, then off you went. I have a very good photo of me in this position, and if i can learn how to scan it, i will post it. Anyway back to me failing. All the jumps went well. after each jump we were briefed and shown the video, so we knew what we were doing wrong. we also learnt how to re-pack the shutes. For me the major problem came when we went up for our sixth jump. I had a shute packed by someone else who was the sharpest knife in the drawer, and froze in the plane. For some reason i had this crazy idea the shute wasn't packed right, and there was no way on this earth i was jumping, so i stayed on boared. It was a great experiance and one i'm glad i did, but to be honest i'm still scared of heights, and i'll never do it again.
Mungler
Why anyone would want to part company with a perfectly good plane whilst it is in the sky beats me. It's just one of those things - when you hear on the news of people dying or seriously injuring themselves whilst pot holing, deep sea wreck diving, sky diving and hangliding you just tend to think "well there you go" it's an entirely natural result / conclusion to taking the risk.
