G.S. Woodpecker

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to get a photo of the GSW that's been visiting to the garden over lockdown, but every time I get the camera ready he's ******** off; he's been so skittish. Anyway, today he had a proper barney with another local male and after giving him what for, he settled down to demonstrate his territorial claim on our feeder, this time the camera was ready. You can see where his feathers got a bit battered in the shakedown with the other bird. WP1.JPG.b4df071612815046901cb7e1b392cad9.JPG

Nice pictures I used to photograph one at work but haven't seen it or the Green Yaffle for a couple of years.

I did hear and manage to see a GSW making a new home on a tree in woodland near to Rutland Water recently.
