Paul123
Went out yesterday over on One of my farms just to have a look around as I haven’t been over there for awhile and he’s planted three fields of poppyseeds just wondered if anyone has ever shot over This before and had good numbers The fields are normally really good with loads of flight lines But bit worried with the choice of crop that’s gone in
Walker570
A bit 'way out' I would say......old sixties saying, flower power and all that. I would not have thought there was a lot of food there but no doubt the pigeons will tell you come harvest.
matone
Don`t think we`ve ever had such variety in cropping as we have this year what with failed drillings and replacement green crops etc. It`ll certainly be interesting to see what the pigeons make of it all. DoolinDalton
Do they use poppy seeds in mixed bird seed? If so, then it'll definitely attract certain species. I know that it's used in bread making. Watch out for thieving bakers!
martinj
They have been growing opium poppies for pharmaceutical use around here for yonks, sadly I have never seen pigeons on them. They have a bitter smell and I don't think pigeons like them.
