Walker570
Potential of a new squirrel site and it is where the use of an air gun is essential and the pellet stops on site. I included a thick sheet of metal plate sufficient to stop a pellet which can be set either side of the feed platform simply by unscrewing and swapping over when required. This is made from all reclaimed sheet metal, some from the information sheets you see on the side of IBC crates, some is metal flattened out from roofing sheet and the lid...well I haven't a clue where that came from but was on my pile of scrap metal and just the right size and weight. It will be hinged at the rear and I have to put the metal strapping around the hopper to fix the restraing strp to on the tree. The holes at the front are for the small birds to help themselves and they also act as decoys attracting the attention of any passing tree rat. The benefit of using metal is that it doesn't get chewed. No more difficult to make if you have a drill, disc cutter and pop riveter. Walker570
That's the idea Hopefully going into a new spot where I am anticipating a bit of a slaughter for the first few weeks then it might settle down. Hence the hopper.
